What is Reiki-ho ?
The “Reiki-ho” I introduce in this book started from healing method using the power of hands, the same as “Hands-on healing”, which has existed from ancient times. However it differs from other similar healing methods in the respect that hard training is not necessary and anyone can perform the healing(healing technique)by easily following the original system. Furthermore a distinctive feature is that it will be useful in creating your own life by becoming skilful in the use of Universal energy through the practice of healing.
Reiki-ho was originally established as the “Usui Reiki Ryoho” by Mikao Usui (1865 – 1926) about 80 years ago as “The way to make mind and body healthy on the basis on Universal Reiki”. Usui Reiki Ryoho was wide spread in the country as a very effective “Hands-on healing” and it was adopted by many people especially in the navy on account of the support of rear admirals Ushida and Taketomi.
Reiki Ryoho was brought over to the United States after Usui sensei’s death and it grew on their own terms linked up with the New Age movement as “ the healing technique for mind and body. And it was spread from the United States, as the head-quarters, to all over the world and landed bac in Jpan in the late 1980s as “Reiki-ho”.
Although Reiki Ryoho was born in Japan, it grew internationally, going through many transformations and now it is recognized not only as a superior “healing technique”, but also as “an effective way to raise spirituality and to create a positive life”. Numerous ways of making use of it are being developed.
Comment:
It seems, in Japan, only few numbers of people knew Reiki before. From what I have heard, Japanese people are strict in maintaining its traditions, and keeping it from outsiders. It explains why even people in Japan did not know that a Reiki tradition exist among them. We should thank to American people for spreading Reiki all over the world.
